RALS-Plus collects multiple test results and sends the information to the RALS Core System (RCS) where the data is evaluated based on user-configurable criteria. Data that passes this criteria is automatically uploaded to the hospital LIS, while results that fail are "flagged" and held for operator reviewn in the RALS-Plus Information Management Station (IMS).

At the IMS, authorized operators can review patient and quality control (QC) test results, edit selected data for flagged results and upload them to the LIS, and include/exclude results for QC statistical reporting purposes.

The IMS also serves as the POC Administrator’s workstation for managing point-of-care testing locations, operators, operator certifications, devices, quality control data, evaluation criteria and system security.

The POC Administrator reviews, adds, edits, and removes information on a regular basis to ensure the RCS is complete and accurate. RALS-Plus records QC testing of each device using QC controls, proficiency tests, and linearity tests, and provides extensive reporting capability. This enables the institution to establish a QC testing program to meet the needs of the regulatory agencies
